SHORT REPORT
INTER-COLLEGE ENTREPRENEURSHIP CULTURE
PROMOTION COMPETITION HELD IN MOROGORO AT MZUMBE UNIVERSITY.
The competition was
held at Mzumbe University on 17th November, 2012 whereby different
representertives from different universities all over the country attended the
event. In UN CHAPTAER AMUCTA we had three representertives (Halima Bakari, Obed
Edwine and Aloyce Mlawa)
PARTICIPANTS
The main
participants of the competition were students from Morogoro Universities
including SUA, MUZUMBE, Jordan University and the other universities were just
the observers in order that after the completion they are going to launch the
same event to their respective universities. The Deputy Minister of Labor and
Employment MARIETTA MCHA was the guest of honor on behalf of the Minister of labor
and employment.
THE AIM OF THE COMPETITION
The Inter-college
entrepreneurship culture promotion is the project aimed at bringing youth
together and sharing important values to change the negative attitudes on
entrepreneurship that is normally exist in our minds as youth.
THE NATURE OF COMPETITION
The competition
started at the University level whereby before the day for competition the
competitors asked to write essays about entrepreneurship where the legible
judges had to select only ten (10) successful essays. The successful one had to
enter the next level for debate competition on the issues pertaining
entrepreneurship, the motions were on the spot displayed. The language selected
was Kiswahili.
The motions
discussed were as follows;
- MFUMO WA KODI UNAHAMASISHA UJASILIAMALI KWA VIJANA.
- MFUMO WA ELIMU UNAHAMASISHA UJASILIAMALI KWA VIJANA.
- UTANDAWAZI UNAHAMASISHA UJASILIAMALI KWA VIJANA.
The winner was
awarded laptop and printer, the 1st runner up was awarded laptop and
the 2nd runner up won printer.
There for, the
event is followed by each university to prepare a proposal of not less than
5,000,000/= to enable the competition on a particular university were the
winner will have to compete with the other winners from all over the Tanzanian
universities.
